The Straws, formed by Ollie (guitar & vocals), Chump (Bass) and Reno (drums, backing vocals) was born in July 2005 in Arlon, south of Belgium. The Straws is a true power rock band with all that means. By showing his strong British influences, the trio seal very well between fineness of the melodies and an implacable bass-drums bloc. The coherence of the rhythmic section brings an energy which transcends compositions with catchy choruses. After a few months working, the three boys released their first demo in March 2006, intituled ‘Up the pole’. In august of that year, the trio was spotted by a young sound engineer who proposed them to record a few songs. The band directly agreed and put then some material in the can at GAM studio in Waimes, January 2007. A few months later, the band decided to lock himself up at “L’air ne fait pas la chanson” studio in Liège to record ‘Tales of an everyday life’, his first album completely auto-produced, with Roger Roland and Jean-François Hertsens at the controls. For now, the combo hopes this album will open him new doors and give him the opportunity to play bigger stages, place where the band feels at its best. Besides, the trio has made a remarqued gig at the last ‘Les Nuits de l’Entrepôt’ Festival The diversity of the songs, even if they’re linked together, and their own sonority let appear an almost inexhaustible potential.
