I was chasin' the sun down the other day.
Tryin' to find a place where I could hide away.
Drove around and saw the light begin to fade.
No where to stay and no place that I had to be.
Dreaming of a place to call my own,
A little shack by the sea. Away from the time and the routines,
That's where you and I should be.
Searching for a place that I can fit in,
Lookin' high and low and finding nothing around.
I see myself as trying to pick up some ground.
Pokeing around at all the things I've found.
I don't know what life has in store for me, Turn every corner to see what I can see.
The stars say that it's right here beneath my feet,
Telling me that it's been there all along.
Time is going by so quickly, Surely I must be getting closer,
To what I have already known,
The road that will lead me to home.
Searching for a place that I can fit in,
Lookin' high and low and finding nothing around.
I see myself as trying to pick up some ground.
Pokeing around at all the things I've found.
The sun is setting there's no clouds up in the sky,
This road is leading me here and I don't know why,
I should be happy right here just where I stand,
But either way I'm going somewhere that I can stay.
Life is just like a revolving door,
Turning in circles all of the time.
I don't know which way I'm going,
But the fair winds are following me.
Searching for a place that I can fit in,
Lookin' high and low and finding nothing around.
I see myself as trying to pick up some ground,
Pokeing around at all the things I've found.
